The Free Bet Had a Handlebar Mustache

A consumer note on offers wearing novelty glasses.

The offer said free, which is a word doing a lot of unpaid labor. The stake was not returned, the eligible markets were narrow, and the boosted price was worse than the shop across town.

This does not make the promo evil. It makes it a promo. The job is to turn the lights on before somebody calls it found money.

Use the offer when the math survives the terms. Skip it when the terms are the whole business model.
