Mike McDaniel was a highly anticipated addition as offensive coordinator, but Justin Herbert's play has been hard to watch.
The Chargers were the home team on New Year's Day 2023 and won 31-10, but Justin Herbert was playing at a much higher level then.
A bailout on this plan after six weeks would be deemed quick, but given what has transpired, such a move would have been understandable. Justin Herbert has gone from a Pro Bowl-level quarterback to one that holds the bottom ranking in QBR entering Week 8.
